Hard times in Rhino: Rev. Eng Progress 2

Progress on the reverse engineered object, the two main obstacles I encountered on the pencil are below:

Figuring out how to cut the pencil with the curves. Found a tutorial that used booleans and a cone.

Figuring out how to create curved closed polysurfaces from a cube/rectangular prism. Found another tutorial where you take handles and pull the radius out for each corner and edge.

I ended up focusing on the details of the pencil. One of which is getting the gold stamping in the layers. I did that with a planar surface just above the inset type.

Every time I felt like my measurements were wrong or something didn't look right, I would compare it to the object itself. It was always right. Great to have it on hand to confirm when I was feeling unsure.

This sharpener was going well, I figured out how to sweep to get the general shape, but the interior components don't come apart and caused a lot of frustration so I decided to just focus on the pencil instead and get detailed with it. Because of things going on at home, I wasn't able to push through this. But, I will. and I will figure it out!
